Aaron Nesbitt • The Good of Goshen

Aaron Nesbitt

Pastor, River Oaks Community Church

I was born and raised in Goshen and went through the Goshen Community Schools system and graduated from there.

I am currently the student and family pastor here at River Oaks Community Church. I’ve been here for a little more than two years now. My role specifically is helping equip families to just be able to work together, love each other, and grow together. That could mean counseling with them or just reaching out to them. We offer programming on Sunday mornings for students and their families and then also on Sunday nights, as well, for middle school and high school students.

I’ve spent time in residential facilities with youth and at the Goshen Boys and Girls Club with them. I just kind of have a heart for students and kids and their families and trying to bridge that communication gap between them and helping them grow.

My wife Kelsey and I have been married 10 years this year. We have four little ones age 6 and younger – three daughters and a son. We love hitting up The Chief. That’s always something we try to do multiple times throughout the summer. We try to stop at First Fridays, as well – I love that that’s going on there – and the different parks.

Growing up in Goshen, I’ve kind of seen it go through many different stages. It’s always adapting. It’s not stuck in a rut. Goshen is such a diverse city that has a lot of unique cultures kind of meshing together. And that’s a beautiful thing. It’s a creative environment. Very exciting. Always something going on.
