Eliana Medrano • The Good of Goshen

Eliana Medrano

Parent Liaison, Waterford Elementary School

I’m originally from California. We moved here about 1994 or ’95 and I have been here ever since.

I’m a parent liaison at Waterford Elementary School. I’m the connection for parents between families and the school. I work especially closely with our Hispanic community. Those who don’t speak a lot of English, I’m here to support them.

For fun in Goshen, it’s anything with my kids. I have a son and a daughter and an 8-month-old baby. Sports, Goshen Parks Department basketball – all that good stuff.

The schools in Goshen are very near and dear to my heart. Growing up here, it was always a place for me. I always enjoyed education anyway, and now that my kids are getting older, I love the fact that they’re in the schools. I can’t wait until they’re Redhawks and doing sports. The schools bring a lot of warmth to me, and now that I work for them, even more. It’s really neat to come full circle – coming from the schools here to work for them, as well.

Goshen has grown so much since when I was younger, that’s for sure. It’s just become a place you could call home. It’s very welcoming, for families especially. Once I had kids, I knew this was the place for me. I knew it was safe, I knew it had great schools, the parks, all the trails – it’s just one of those welcoming, warm places that feels like home.
