Joanna & Levi King

Co-owners, Jojo’s Pretzels
Residence: Goshen, Indiana

Joanna: We met in Sarasota, Florida in 1989 and we fell in love. In 1990, we got married. We’ve been married for 27 years!

Levi: Time goes fast. We have four kids, and we’re going to be empty nesters next year. It goes fast when you’re having fun. Love, to me, is a decision. We don’t always feel like loving, but I think once you make a choice, you stick with it.

Joanna: No matter what happens throughout the day, at the end of the day, there’s really nobody that I’d rather spend time with than Levi. And it doesn’t have to be fancy dates or anything. I just love spending time with him; it is something I value. Levi serves so many people so well and I see that. That, to me, is what love is … serving others.

Levi: I am a believer in getting involved in your town, wherever you are. Here in Goshen, I am a Goshen Chamber board member and an Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau board member. Joanna serves on the Goshen Theater board.  I love, love, love the projects that we’re working on. Our projects don’t always make money –– but that’s not why we do them. It’s called giving back. You do what you can to make some of these exciting projects happen to better the community.

Joanna: It’s also, I think, what gives you value in your hometown. When people say that good things are happening in Goshen, it’s because of the people and what they’re doing to add value to the city. We all have the opportunity to make our town the very best it can be. It’s a joy to help Goshen get somewhere even better.
