Detective Mario Mora

Goshen Police Department Detective
Current Residence: Goshen, Indiana

Published March 2018

I was born in Mexico. The day that I became a citizen was my first day as an officer. I take a lot of pride in being an American and in being an officer. I’ve been a police officer a since 2000 –– I started out as a road officer in a patrol car. I moved here to the Goshen Police Department in 2005. In 2013, I was promoted to the position of detective. I’m passionate about the job that I do. In this position, you have to be an example. You have to be the best you can be to serve the community.

I believe in the importance of being kind to each other. In law enforcement, as a whole, if we don’t show the community that we care, they might miss it. By getting involved with the community, I think that’s how we can turn things around and make communities better.

What I really love about Goshen is the people. It doesn’t matter where you are in town, the people are friendly. I love Goshen because Goshen cares.
