Interactive Art in the City

Story Submitted by Idris Busari

By now, you may have heard about the life-size art installations in Goshen and around Elkhart County –– or you may have already seen and interacted with them yourself! Crafted by world-renowned artist Seward Johnson, these sculptures celebrate the everyday moments of American life. Installed in mid-May, the statues are part of the Elkhart County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau’s Heritage Trail Adventures, a 90-minute driving tour around Elkhart County.

You can find the statues here in Goshen, as well as in our neighboring communities of Elkhart, Middlebury, Nappanee, Bristol, and Wakarusa. In total, there are 56 life-size bronze sculptures around the county and one 25-foot tall, 27,000-pound monument in downtown Elkhart. The sculptures will be viewable for the entire summer, from now until October 20.

Get more information about Elkhart County’s Epic Art Adventures installations online here. And as you run into the statues, make sure to snap a selfie and use the hashtags #EpicArtAdventures and #QuiltGardens!
