Real Men Read

Every week for a month, nearly a hundred Goshen men spend an afternoon doing one of the most heroic feats imaginable: reading books with children.

The United Way of Elkhart County’s “Real Men Read” program connects local men — from police officers to stay-at-home dads to software engineers to the mayor — with students in 13 elementary schools across the county. These men are, in United Way’s words, total rockstars. By spending time with the students over the course of a month, they become role models, friends, and community members that these future Goshen leaders can look up to.

The name says it all, real men read.
